The Stellenbosch Libertas Choir performed on board the Seabourn Quest, while she was staying over in Cape Town. The international audience was treated to a program of various South African folk and contemporary songs. The choir received generous applause and a standing ovation.

Die Stellenbosch Libertaskoor het opgetree aan boord van die Seabourn Quest terwyl sy in die Kaapse hawe vasgemeer het. Die internasionale gehoor is vermaak met 'n program van Suid Afrikaanse tradisionele en moderne liedere. Die koor het 'n staande ovasie ontvang.

The Stellenbosch Libertas Choir was honoured to be part of the 60th Anniversary Service of the Calvin Protestant Church, Athlone. The Calvin Protestant Church of SA was FOUNDED on the 15th of October 1950 in Athlone, Cape Town, under the leadership of the late Dr I.D. Morkel. The Libertas Choir performed during the service and was rewarded with a standing ovation. The members of the Congregation received the Libertas Choir with friendship and hospitality and treated the Choir to refreshments after the service.

Die Stellenbosch Libertaskoor was geëerd om deel te wees van die 60ste Herdenkingsdiens van die Calvyn Protestantse Kerk, Athlone. Die Calvyn Protestantse Kerk van SA is op 15 Oktober 1950 gestig in Athlone, Kaapstad, onder leiding van wyle Dr I.D. Morkel. Die Libertaskoor het gedurende die diens opgetree en is staande toegejuig. Die lede van die Gemeente het die Libertaskoor met vriendskap en gasvryheid ontvang en het die Koor op verversings getrakteer na die diens.

It was with great pleasure that the Stellenbosch Libertas Choir accepted an invitation to be part of the ArtsCape Choral Celebration 2010 in a performance shared with the Voices of Cape Town. The event was as enjoyable to the choirs involved, as it was entertaining to the audience. The performances concluded with both choirs on stage in a joint performance of three indigenous South African songs.

Met groot plesier het die Stellenbosch Libertaskoor ‘n uitnodiging aanvaar om deel te wees van die KunsteKaap se Choral Celebration 2010 en om ‘n uitvoering te deel met die Voices of Cape Town. Die betrokke kore het die geleentheid net soveel geniet as die waarderende gehoor. Die uitvoerings is afgesluit met albei kore op die verhoog in ‘n gesamentlike uitvoering van drie inheemse Suid Afrikaanse liedere.

In the last of 2 performances of the Mass in B Minor by J.S. Bach, the Stellenbosch Libertas Choir delivered an outstanding performance equal to, if not better than, the previous week’s performance in the Paarl. Again the conductor was Johan de Villiers, choirmaster of the Libertas Choir. The soloists were Lente Louw (soprano), Violina Anguelov (alto), Nick de Jager (tenor) and André Howard (bariton).

Bach, lewer die Stellenbosch Libertaskoor ‘n puik vertolking gelykstaande aan, indien nie beter as, die vorige week se uitvoering in die Paarl. Die dirigent was weereens Johan de Villiers, koormeester van die Libertaskoor. Die soliste was Lente Louw (sopraan), Violina Anguelov (alt), Nick de Jager (tenoor) en André Howard (bariton).

The Stellenbosch Libertas Choir is started final preparations and rehearsals with the orchestra, for the upcoming performances of the Bach Mass in B Minor. The performances will be in the Toringkerk, Paarl (www.toringkerk.co.za ) and Endler Hall, Stellenbosch (www.libertas.co.za/concerts.php ). The orchestra is lead by well known Capetonian musician Jürgen Schwietering. At both performances, the conductor will be Johan de Villiers.

Die Stellenbosch Libertaskoor het begin met finale afronding en repetisies met die orkes, vir die komende uitvoerings van Bach se Mis in B Mineur. Die uitvoerings sal in die Toringkerk (www.toringkerk.co.za ), Paarl en die Endlersaal Stellenbosch plaasvind (www.libertas.co.za/konserte.php ). Die orkes staan onder leiding van die bekende Kaapstadse musikant Jürgen Schwietering. Johan de Villiers sal die dirigent by beide uitvoerings wees.

The Stellenbosch Libertas Choir was honoured to be part of the launch, at a gala function, of the Hope Project initiated by the Stellenbosch University. The Choir treated guests to enthusiastic singing.

The Stellenbosch Libertas Choir was invited by the community of Rawsonville to perform on two occasions near and in Rawsonville. The Libertas Choir was received with great hospitality and had an opportunity to socialise with the audience. At both performances the Libertas Choir received standing ovations and on both occations the Choir was treated with overwhelming generosity and kindness.

Die Stellenbosch Libertaskoor is deur die gemeenskap van Rawsonville genooi om by twee geleenthede naby en in Rawsonville op te tree. Die Libertaskoor is ontvang met groot gasvryheid en het die geleentheid gekry om gesellig met die gehoor te verkeer. By beide optredes het die Libertaskoor staande toejuiging geniet en by beide geleenthede is die Koor met groothartigheid en goedheid oorweldig.

Every year, as per usual, towards the end of January the Stellenbosch Libertas Choir spends a whole weekend rehearsing new music for the program for the coming year. Although it means hard work and endless rehearsals, there is always fun to be had.

Elke jaar, soos gewoonlik, aan die einde van Januarie spandeer die Stellenbosch Libertaskoor ‘n hele naweek aan die instudering van nuwe musiek vir die program van die jaar wat kom. Al beteken dit harde werk en eindelose repetisies, is daar darem altyd pret ook by.
